Abstract

The agribusiness sector faced increasing challenges due to global market complexities and rapid technological change. Despite the growing recognition of sustainable practices and cooperation model, there was limited systematic analysis of how these elements developed in recent years. Furthermore, the integration of digital platforms and agriculture 4.0 created new opportunities and ethical concerns that had not been fully explored. This study addressed these gaps by conducting a bibliometric review of research on sustainable agribusiness cooperation and ethical consent practices published between 2020 and 2025. The review synthetized existing literature to clarify emerging frameworks that guided sustainable and ethical agribusiness practices. The research contributed by mapping cooperation models and ethical frameworks in agribusiness and by offering insights into how technological innovations were integrated into sustainable business strategies. It provided structured evidence for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to strengthen both ethical governance and sectoral competitiveness. The study applied a bibliometric approach using records retrieved from Scopus database. A structured Boolean search produced 174 records, which were screened for relevance’s and duplicates, resulting 147 documents for analysis. The data were analyzed to examine authorship, publication trends, geographical distribution, sources, and keyword evolutions. The result showed that the articles formed most of the publication (67.3%), followed by conference papers (26.5%). Indonesia, Brazil, and Russia emerged as leading contributors, reflecting their roles in global agribusiness. Annual output peaked in 2021 before stabilizing in subsequent years. Conference proceedings were a dominant channel of dissemination, while journals showed steady contributions. Keyword mapping revealed strong connections between agribusiness, cooperatives and sustainability, with growing emphasis on digital platforms, agroindustry, and agriculture 4.0 in later years. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that agribusiness research evolved toward technology-driven, sustainability-oriented, and cooperative models, though comprehensive reviews remained limited. These findings provided a foundation for future research and practical strategies in advancing ethical and sustainable agribusiness.
